December Favourites 2016

Image
Hello there my little dreamers! I hope you're all doing well! The new year is upon us, and I'm super excited to kick start it with some blog posts. If you've been following me recently, you'll know I've been blogging a lot more recently. My New Year's Resolution blog went up last week, so if you're interested in finding out what it had in store, take a look! But for now, I thought I'd tell you all about my favourite bits and pieces from December 2016. Favourite Moment: Ice Skating Double Date Why? Difficult choice for this one, as so many amazing thing have happened this month. It's been my birthday, it's been Christmas. But one thing, that embody's the entire season and is something I love, was ice skating with my boyfriend on a double date. I hadn't been ice skating in years, and it was so fun to be back on the ice. (However, having a special birthday message from Jedward is a close second!) Favourite Tea: Gin...

Lush Products of 2016

Image
Hello there my little dreamers! Today I fancied telling you all about my favourite Lush products of 2016. As some of you may know, I’m an ex-Lush employee, I use to work as a Sales Assistant on Oxford Street, and I loved my job. I can’t wait for the day when I put my apron on again! Being a Lushie, I have had a year full of amazing products, I thought I’d tell you a bit more about my top five favourite products . Salted Coconut We’re going to start off with Salted Coconut hand scrub. When I worked at  Lush, this was the first thing I grabbed when giving a customer a hand treatment. It’s so exfoliating, brilliant for dry hands. I found it so helpful when I was working with strong chemicals and my hands were broken and dry. It’s a miracle worker, also great for achy feet! Vegan Stamp of Approval Brazened Honey Secondly, we’ll jump in with one of my favourite fresh face masks; Brazened Honey. First time I came across this product was again at Oxford Street, an...

New Years Resolutions

Image
2016 started off great for this little blog, however mid-way through, things got a bit slack on my part. I’d began working full time, my mental health went down the drain and I had no time or energy to blog. However, I believe 2017 is the year of success and good spirits. And so, without further ado, here is my New Year’s Resolutions and goals for 2017. Firstly, possibly the one most blog related is keep up one post a week from now till the end of 2017. This may seem quite simple, but as we can see from my lack of posts from 2016, it’s something that is seen as a bit of a challenge. So, may this be the start of something amazing. The next few things are more events than resolutions, but here’s a few things I’d love to see, love to do, and love to experience. I want to achieve things in 2017, I couldn’t in 2016. Find a part-time job , and save up for all these wonderful things, and work until I move home after university. I’ve already applied for a few jobs, and I’ve alrea...

Vote Leave = Death

Image
Okay, okay. So political blog posts aren't really my thing, as you may have told from my rendition of Meghan Trainor's 'Dear Future Husband' - ' Dear David Cameron ', but I do know a thing or two about the upcoming EU Referendum.  As you may have previously read my last blog post ( Disney Fanatics Reasons To STAY In The EU ), well here are some more points which have recently become an even stronger reason to vote STAY for me. So you may know that my most recent adventure to Disneyland Paris ended in a horror story. I had to be rushed to hospital after having a seizure right outside Buzz Lightyear's Laser Blast (fun times, am I right?). When I got to the hospital I had to have head scans, blood tests, x-rays of my shoulder, as well as the fun of being on a heart machine.  (If you want to read more as to what happened to me, then here's a cheeky link to ' Nightmare in Disneyland '!) Anyway, have you ever heard of an EHIC? I hope y...

Comic Con May 2016

Image
The weekend just gone, I attended my second EVER Comic Con in London! The first time I went was in October 2015 again in London, and I went for the Saturday only, whereas this time I attended both the Saturday and the Sunday.  ~ DAY ONE ~ On the Saturday, I attended as Eve in Disneybound form from the Disney film 'Wall-E' with my goof of a boyfriend partially Disneybounding as Wall-E. I mean, it's a step in the right direction, I'll get him cosplaying in no time!  (For this Disneybound I had a sleek white dress, black lipstick and blue sunglasses to recreate the character.) It was a really great day, exploring and seeing all the different stalls and cosplays. Here are some of my favourites from the day!   (I spotted someone as Regina (The Evil Queen) from Once Upon A Time !) (I also spotted someone cosplaying as the Ukrainian entry to Eurovision from 2007!) I didn't buy much as I am a strugglingly student with no money, but I did t...

'The Black Pearl' Candle by Maple & Whisky

Image
"Yo ho, yo ho - a pirates life for me..." Ever since I was little, my favourite ride has always been the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disneyland Paris. I've been obsessed with the franchise since I was about nine, when I was given all the films for Christmas.  When I heard a Etsy shop by the name of Maple and Whisky were creating Disney-inspired candles, I jumped at the chance to purchase one.  And so I did! I decided to treat myself to their newest candle, The Black Pearl . As pictured above, I bought myself the smaller addition in the 8oz jar (larger being 12oz) for only £8.30. All candles are handmade to order, and the company gives you the option of two different wicks and waxes.  I got mine custom made with a woodwick and a paraffin soy blend wax. The paraffin soy blend wax gives the candle a really powerful fragrance which makes the musky scent even more alluring and tasteful.  " You've seen a ship with black sails, th...

Dear Fairy Godmother #2

Image
"Dear Fairy Godmother, I really want to start making cosplays but I don't know where to start. I've  always  attended events like Comic Con but I've never dressed up and I feel out of  place. Do you have any advice? - Anonymus" Dear Reader, I've only attended Comic Con once, and so this one happening right now ( May 2016 ) is in fact my second time and first time in costume, so I know exactly how you feel! Making a cosplay can be very stressful, especially if you've never been taught how to sew let alone cut patterns or arrange everything together. Luckily I studied Textiles at GCSE and A-Level so I have a bit of experience, but not enough.  Before I jump in with some tips and all, I thought I'd jump in with some of my favourite Cosplays... (Elsa, Anna, myself and Sven and Olaf from Frozen ) (Kuzco, myself and Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove ) (Myself, Queen Regina and Serenna from the TV series Once Upon A Tim...

Disney Cosplay Bucketlist

Image
There's something about dressing up and pretending to be someone you not which just inspires creation and adventure. As you may know, I'm attending Comic Con at the end of this week on the Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th, and you can bet your little cotton socks I'll look nothing the usual. Yes, that right I've made a cosplay.  This year, on the Saturday I'll be cosplaying as Belle from ' Beauty and the Beast ' with a romantic-gothic twist, and on the Sunday I'll be Disney-Bounding as Eve from ' Walle '. It's safe to say, I am very excited. I'll be  attending  the Disney Cosplay Meet Up on both days, so if you see me, come and say hi! Although this year is some what planned out, I do have some cosplay's I'm simply dying to create!  Coming in at NUMBER THREE we have Maximus! Nah! I'm just kidding, it's Rapunzel. As many of you are sure to know Tangled my favourite Disney film of all time an...

Convention Tips & Tricks

With MCM Comic Con  hastily  approaching, it's time to iron your outfits and patch up those holes, it's convention time. As someone who has been to only four conventions in her  whole  life, I'd like to think I'm rather new to this! However, I've learnt some tips and tricks for  making  your time most delight!  Over the past year I've been to HyperJapan twice, Summer in the City once, MCM Comic Con (in London) once in October 2015. That's a whole lot of walking around, bumping into random strangers and spending way, way too much money. Although these tips can apply to almost EVERY convention, today I'm specifically talking about Comic Con. Without further ado, let's get on with it... DO remember to preplan stuff in advance.  The amount of times I've woken up at 11am when the convention doors opened at 10am is unbelievable, and its not just me ( *cough* Serenna *cough* HyperJapan *cough* ). The day before is just as important as the...

Disney Society Fundraiser

Ah, so the day has arrived, I'm currently sat in bed attempting to prepare myself for tonight. Tonight the Roehampton Disney Society are putting on a bake sale and quiz to raise money to help fund our tickets to go see Aladdin.  I've never been the most confident person, I was actually rather shy growing up. However, becoming President of the Roehampton Disney Society has encouraged me to do things I'd never thought I would, like host our Disney Quiz alongside our Vice President, Izzy.  This means tonight I'll be given a microphone and I'll be entertaining a crowd of gosh knows how many. A worry of mine is that no-one will show up and it'll just be me and Izzy and a lot of cupcakes.  My dear, last night I was baking cupcakes and brownies from 4pm till late, we now have almost fifty yummy delights to sell today. Hopefully we'll sell them all... Fun fact though, don't mistake icing sugar for cake mixture, icing sugar doesn't bake like cake...

RSU Awards Evening

Image
Hi there my lovelies, welcome back to my blog. Today I fancied just a chatty little post about what I got up to today! ( Hence why it's been so lately uploaded! ) As you may or may not know, I'm just completing my final year at University of Roehampton in London. I study Media, Culture and Identity and in my spare time I'm a part of the community of students. You may be wondering from the title, but 'RSU' stands for 'Roehampton Student Union' and tonight they were hosting Award Evening to celebrate all the talented souls of the university.  What was I doing there I hear you ask?  Back in February, I founded the Roehampton Disney Society, no big shocker there, I am a little bit of a fan to say the least. Since the start, I've also become the President and created many different socials and events for the students of Roehampton to enjoy!  I was informed a couple of weeks ago, that the Roehampton Disney Society had been nominated for an awa...

Dear Fairy Godmother #1

Image
Dear Reader, As it's the first official week of ' Dear Fairy Godmother ' I thought I'd kick it off with a  little bit of motivational support for all of you to embrace! With the sun having shone through my windows the past couple of days, I feel inspired and motivated to create some amazing things. I mean, you've probably all seen my new schedule for blog posts and youtube videos? As well as all this, I've been busy baking and sewing amazing little treats such as Disneyland inspired Churros and my own Belle cosplay for MCM Comic Con this year. All hands on deck at the moment! However, I know this won't last for long. To stay so motivated and inspired all the time, takes it out of you and too much can make you sad. Alas, there is no point in giving up!  Summer is fast approaching, soon we shall have sunshine all over and plenty of time on our hands. I know how tempting it can be to lounge around all day and sleep for a hundred years ( trust m...
