Comic Con May 2016

The weekend just gone, I attended my second EVER Comic Con in London! The first time I went was in October 2015 again in London, and I went for the Saturday only, whereas this time I attended both the Saturday and the Sunday.

~ DAY ONE ~

On the Saturday, I attended as Eve in Disneybound form from the Disney film 'Wall-E' with my goof of a boyfriend partially Disneybounding as Wall-E. I mean, it's a step in the right direction, I'll get him cosplaying in no time!

(For this Disneybound I had a sleek white dress, black lipstick and blue sunglasses to recreate the character.)

It was a really great day, exploring and seeing all the different stalls and cosplays. Here are some of my favourites from the day!

(I spotted someone as Regina (The Evil Queen) from Once Upon A Time!)

(I also spotted someone cosplaying as the Ukrainian entry to Eurovision from 2007!)

I didn't buy much as I am a strugglingly student with no money, but I did treat myself to some Japanese snacks from Tofu Cute! I did buy some reduced Curry flavoured Ramune which didn't actually taste too bad...

~ DAY TWO ~

On the Sunday I was cosplaying as Belle in her peasant dress from Beauty and the Beast. Now I was very proud of this dress. I made it all myself within a day that I was home. I hadn't made an item of clothing in over a year, and certainly not with any supervision from teachers.

(On our way to the station, I spotted the a little forest section which would have been brilliant for a little photo shoot, and so that's exactly what I did! Dragged my boyfriend over and we took some photographs.)

Once we arrived at the ExCel, we went to find my best friend Serenna who was Disneybounding as Jane from Tarzan.

Once we'd found each other, we headed over to N8 in the ExCel so that we could take part in the Disney Meet happening at 2:00pm. I've always seen Disney Meet events, but never had the chance to join in, mainly as this was my first time cosplaying. As much as I'd like to say I had a wonderful time and everything was lovely, that wasn't the case I'm afraid...

You see, the Meet was more of just a Photo Shoot. They got everyone together for a big group photo, then got smaller groups (such as Villains, Princesses, Females, etc.) and to ensure everything ran smoothly, they pointed to everyone where they should stand or sit.

This is where it went down hill. I hadn't notice at first, but after being told, it was clear. There was a heirachy of people,  unless you were in with the clique, they didn't care. Most people, if not all, got told where to sit or stand, alas I didn't get told anything. The organisers looked me dead in the eyes before saying, "Anyone else? No, good." So I slot myself in place.

We left before the meet could finish, I felt like crying. Soon after we looked around the stalls where I broke into tears. Not really the best day, but I was picked up and turned around, so I could enjoy the rest of Comic Con.

We popped by to the Summer in the City booth before the Convention ended and had a lovely chat with the volunteers about all things YouTube, and yes I will be attending! This year I'll be attending for the whole weekend with my best friend Serenna as well as Georgie and Arran and many others!

Well I can say that I'm super looking forward to next Comic Con in October and I hope to make it so much better than the last. Going to start working on my cosplay now and hopefully it'll be such a stand-out costume, those who ignored me, will bow down to me...
