A Dusty Hardback

Have you ever found yourself, treading lightly in the back of an old book shop, looking for a hidden treasure? Nowerdays, treasures don't come in the shape of chests filled with gold coins or Davy Jones' beating heart... But, that doesn't stop us from looking for them.  Long time no see. Odd phrase that is, "long time, no see". I'd like to start off by apologising for my absence. I understand going from weekly blog updates to hearing nothing for little over two months can be rather alarming, but I'm okay. Summer was long and busy and I needed time to myself, I had picked myself back up and started running again, running long and running free into the open air. However as the days past, I've found myself sat on the shelf of an old book shop, collecting dust - waiting for the next person to wipe me clean and open up a new chapter.  I suppose I'll update you as to what you missed in the last chapter. Life hasn't been as heroic and bus...

A Little London Adventure

Image
On Saturday 11th July at 8:40am, I boarded onto a coach in my little town in the middle of the English countryside. When I stepped off that coach, I was far from a little town in the countryside. Only two hours away from home, I was in one of the most artistic and iconic cities in the world. London. It's not often I leave the safety of my little town - or my laptop, to be completely honest with you - but this day I had adventured to London alongside one of my best friends (Zehra) for a day of adventures.  ~ HYPER JAPAN ~ The main point of interest for our little adventure was the HYPER JAPAN Festival located at the O2 Arena in London. We arrived there at midday, just after the opening rush, and spent three hours looking around, admiring the Japanese culture that had taken over the O2.  I'll admit, I may have gone a little overboard on the shopping... So you can expect a HYPER JAPAN Haul video coming to a YouTube Subscription box near you! (Oh, you didn'...

Once Upon A Dream

Image
It's almost been three weeks since I adventured to the land of magic and adventure. It seems like it was forever-ago. It all seems like a dream.  I know you're all probably thinking "oh ha-ha, nice description there, very original" but it did, it did feel like a dream. Looking back, thank the second star to the right that I took so many photos and videoed my time their. It feels unreal; looking back, remembering back - was I actually there? My third, and final Disneyland Paris Vlog will be up soon - so slight spoiler as this will be public before the video - but before we officially left the park, whilst Serenna was taking photos, I burst into tears. Yep, I was crying, whilst vlogging, just off Main Street USA. It was the first time I had been there in six years. Six whole years. I don't know whether I was crying because I was sad to be leaving, or whether I was happy because it was quite literally the best holiday ever!  ~ For a week after, I had...

A Tale of Heroes vs. Villains

Fairytales are stories about heroes and villains.  Stories about good triumphing over the evil forces against them.  Although this world certainly is not a fairytale, and the villains in our world cannot turn into dragons and poison us with apples or spindles of spinning wheels, this is definitely a tale of heroes and villains. ~ I have had my share of battles with the cruel and wicked humans of the earth, sadly they shall not be the last. Unlike in fairytales, despite every battle and every chance to ride off into the sunset and live happily, it's not for ever after. There will be plenty more battles I must face and plenty more dragons I must slay. It's a simple tale of life. I am going to tell you a tale of one of my most recent, and most tragic, battles. One of which I loved yet sadly lost. Although this tale may seem sad, I promise it has left me in a happier place. A happier place of which I can continue life and live life as I choose. ~ There once wer...

Benefit's "POREfessional: License to Blot" Review

Image
Now, being a Disney Princess isn't all it's cracked up to be. I mean, how do you think those Princesses keep their skin clean and clear? Okay, okay - I guess they do have magic and so a bit of "bibitty bobbity boo" can probably sort it all out. Unlike Disney Princesses, I don't have a fairy godmother to help sort out my skin, and let me tell you my skin really does need some help! I've dealt with oily skin and unwanted spots for a long time now, and the list of skin products I've tried goes on, and on, and on. Occasionally, it feels like there's no escape.  Being a barer of bad skin, Benefit Cosmetics have kindly sent me a sample to test and review of their new instant blotting stick: POREfessional: License to Blot. ( PRICED AT £15.50 ) This product is easy to use and feels light and smooth against your skin. What I find with most oil reducing products is that they're rather bulky and difficult to use. Benefit's blotting stic...

Metaphysical Dreams

Image
I could sit here and tell you all about how I wish and how I dream, I could be a Disney Princess with a  tragic backstory but a happily ever after, but why should I wish and dream when it's already a reality. I may not be living in some fantasy realm filled with ogres and wizards, and okay my life isn't going to be the next tale in children's book of fairytales, but my life is special and no matter how difficult it may seem - I will always get my happily ever after one day. "Happily ever after one day" kind of makes it sound that my life won't begin until my happily ever after does. I mean, sure that happened for Rapunzel... "And, I'll keep wondering, and wondering, and wondering, and wondering; when will my life begin..." I suppose she was kind of kept in a tower for 99.9% of her life and so - well - she didn't have a life. But, I do. I've just finished my a-levels in Photography, English Literature and Textiles. I work twen...

Disney DIY: Little Tangled Lanterns

Image
"I want to see the floating lights..."  A key quote without which our tale would have no adventure.  Welcome back to another wonderful week at Ramblings of the Internet's Disney Princess . Another day of dreams, another day of magic. Today, I'm going to let you into my secret as to how to make a little lantern from the Disney film Tangled . As you all know, Tangled is my favourite Disney film of all time. I feel unbelievably connected to it. I'm connected to one thing in particular; it's the symbolism of the floating lanterns and the sun. So when I had this idea to make this little Disney DIY, how could I resist?! Now to begin there's a couple of things you're going to need: - the insides of toilet rolls - acrylic paint - colouring pens - a black sharpie - a pencil - a pair of scissors - and string ~ Step One ~ The first step to making your little lanterns is to paint your toilet roll the colour of your choi...

Things To Know, Before You Go: Packing For Disneyland

Image
I'm sure - if any of you reading this are like me - when it comes to packing, you need Mary Poppins enchanted bag to fit all your clothing and trinkets in. And I bet, similarly to the cook in The Emperor's New Groove, you'll pack everything right down to the pots and pans! As I am also prone to packing all but the kitchen sink, I have pulled together some tips and advice and the top ten things to pack for your adventure to the place where dreams come true: Disneyland Paris . My first top tip to take to Disneyland Paris is shoes. But not just any shoes,  comfortable shoes . You need them to be as comfortable as Cinderella's glass slippers, but perhaps less of a heel and more likely to stay on your feet as you shall be doing a lot of walking. Disneyland Paris covers over 4,800 acres, and you're going to find yourself walking back and forth a lot, so comfortable walking shoes are a must!  Now this second item is very important. As you never know...

Disney Tsum Tsums

Image
It's getting to the point when everything I blink, they're there. Their adorable little faces, all neatly stacked one upon another. Oh how they torment my every wakening.  What are they you ask?  The new and adorable craze that has taken the world by storm: Disney Tsum Tsums, first released in 2013 to the Japanese public after the release of the popular mobile game, are a series of plush animals inspired by popular Disney characters.  Now, I'd be lying if I said that I hadn't fallen head over heels in love with these little creatures. Priced from as little as £3 each, per miniature plush, and up to £20 each, per large plush: they are perfectly affordable and a nice little treat to treat yourself too. Of course, I couldn't resist treating myself to at least one, maybe two, little tsums. So, I treated myself to a miniature Stitch (from Disney's 2002 "Lilo and Stitch" ) as Stitch has always been my f...

Tangled Up

Image
Ever wondered why my love for Tangled is so passionate? Well, I'm about to tell you why I'm so tangled up in Tangled. I have always been a fan of Tangled believe it or not. I put off watching it for a good two-three years until last year when I watched it for the first time. When I first began sixth-form (a-levels) I was so stressed about everything I managed to get myself ill and had to take three days off. In those three days I distinctly remember the smell of boiled leeks, leek and potato soup, and watching almost every Disney film there was on Sky Demand. After watching almost every Disney Princess film there was to watch, I turned to Tangled.  To begin with, it was just another Disney film, I mean I adored it I felt it was brilliant and I was so annoyed at myself for putting off watching it for so long. As time progressed, I realised that I had been watching Tangled on repeat almost weekly. There was something about the story, the romance, the songs; th...

Internet Connection

Image
If there is one thing that Disney has taught me, it's that friendship is the best kind of gift you could ever give anyone. Through-out Disney, one of the key values that keep arising is friendship. From Toy Story to Winnie the Pooh to The Fox and the Hound, each and every Disney film will always show friendship as being the catalyst for defeating the dark forces against them. Growing up, as a young child and teenager, I've always found it hard maintaining a friendship, whether that's because of who I am (a tea drinking, Disney freak with an obsession for cute things), or who they are (a wonderful human being), or circumstances we're put against (e.g. moving to a different school). However, through this physical world of nightmares and boundaries, I've always felt a special connection to those whom my only way of staying in contact is through the screens. Back in 2013, when I first started posting videos on YouTube calling myself a "vlogger", I found...

How To Fly: Daydreams and Achievements

Image
There's something about paying off your first holiday by yourself that makes you feel so grown up, even if you have paid to go on holiday to Disneyland Paris with your best friend. It all started off as a joke last year, Serenna and I were start looking up the prices and feeling all of the excited little jitters you get when planning a holiday, but then it turned into the start of an amazing adventure.  I find it funny how when we were younger, we'd dream that we could be forever young and never grow up like Peter Pan. I remember when I was younger, just after a new Peter Pan film had just come out, I hid in my duvet covers, pretending to sleep, waiting for Peter to take me to Neverland. Sadly, he never appeared at my window, and I personally feel rather disappointed by that Peter. On Thursday 30th April, I paid off my first holiday as an adult* and I'm pretty proud of myself. My parents, who know me better than most, know me for being a compulsive spender and n...

How To: On Kissing Frogs*

Image
Now as you can tell from the title, this week I want to tell you all about how you can find your own Prince and make him your own.  (*The only "frogs" you will be kissing will be sleazy boys who are not - repeat NOT - worth your time. If you literally came here to find out how to kiss frogs then you may want to see someone as bestiality is highly frowned upon and illegal...) In my eighteen years, I've kissed a lot of frogs and non of them have turned into Princes, but I'm still remaining hopeful that one day this mouthful of slime - sorry, it's not slime, it's mucous - will all be worth it. Truth be told, I didn't start attracting the attention of the male race until I was fifteen years old, and three years later - still no temporary happily ever after. Now, I bet you're all wondering; "okay Ellen, we get it, you're a single Disney freak" , so now I'm going to get onto the "How To:'' part of this week'...

Adorkable for Disney

Image
Hey there humans and merfolk a-like.  Today, I'd like to talk about the wonder that is; I was introduced to Adorkable by my friend, Emma, early in 2014. I'll admit, one glance and I had completely fallen in love.  Adorkable Apparel is an American fashion line inspired by Disney, designed by singer/songwriter Traci Hines. Adorkable stands by their morals and only sells products that they would be happy to wear themselves. The reason I want to tell you all about the amazing "Adorkable Apparel" is because of my new Spring Lookbook 2015 , which I uploaded onto my YouTube Channel this time last week. In my Lookbook, I included one of my favourite outfits of all time; Green scale patterned leggings and, of course, Adorkable's signature crop-top . The original Urban Mermaid in purple. I simply adore this crop top. It's loose fitting, free-form shape and poly-cotton blend leaves the customer feeling comfortable and free to move. The customer i...
