How To Fly: Daydreams and Achievements
There's something about paying off your first holiday by yourself that makes you feel so grown up, even if you have paid to go on holiday to Disneyland Paris with your best friend. It all started off as a joke last year, Serenna and I were start looking up the prices and feeling all of the excited little jitters you get when planning a holiday, but then it turned into the start of an amazing adventure.
I find it funny how when we were younger, we'd dream that we could be forever young and never grow up like Peter Pan. I remember when I was younger, just after a new Peter Pan film had just come out, I hid in my duvet covers, pretending to sleep, waiting for Peter to take me to Neverland. Sadly, he never appeared at my window, and I personally feel rather disappointed by that Peter.
On Thursday 30th April, I paid off my first holiday as an adult* and I'm pretty proud of myself. My parents, who know me better than most, know me for being a compulsive spender and never thought I'd be able to save up enough for this holiday, but I did it! This has proved to me that if there is something I truly want, I can achieve it, I just need to put my mind to it.
I've been to Disneyland Paris twice before, when I was twelve years old, with my parents. It's been six years since I was last year, and I shall be returning with my best friend Serenna. I will finally be old enough to go on the rides I want, find the best view to watch the parade from, queue to meet Mickey Mouse and all of the Disney Princesses, and see the fireworks as they light up the skies.
There is only fifty-two days, as of the day this instalment has been posted, until I travel to the unknown land of France where all my dreams will become reality, and who knows maybe I might meet a Prince and ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after. Oh the dreams, until that day they shall be dreams, but don't lose hope, those dreams will come true and someday shall become your achievement. One little step at a time, the first step was paying off Disneyland and the second is the travel.
Until next time, keep dreaming as "a dream is a wish your heart makes..."
*An adult who is going to Disneyland Paris, so does it really count? Nah, I shall never grow up.
