How To: On Kissing Frogs*

Now as you can tell from the title, this week I want to tell you all about how you can find your own Prince and make him your own.

(*The only "frogs" you will be kissing will be sleazy boys who are not - repeat NOT - worth your time. If you literally came here to find out how to kiss frogs then you may want to see someone as bestiality is highly frowned upon and illegal...)

In my eighteen years, I've kissed a lot of frogs and non of them have turned into Princes, but I'm still remaining hopeful that one day this mouthful of slime - sorry, it's not slime, it's mucous - will all be worth it. Truth be told, I didn't start attracting the attention of the male race until I was fifteen years old, and three years later - still no temporary happily ever after.

Now, I bet you're all wondering; "okay Ellen, we get it, you're a single Disney freak", so now I'm going to get onto the "How To:'' part of this week's blog post. I have complied together my favourite steps (inspired by Disney Princess films) on 'How To Get A Prince'.

Step One:
Now the first step in finding your very own Prince is to actually leave your tower. Yep, you heard me ladies. You need to turn off your laptops, exit your homes and actually "venture outside your comfort zone..." because, even Flynn Rider will tell you this, "...the view is worth it." I mean, you're unlikely to meet your Prince online, so get out into the real world. There's plenty of Princes out there if you just start looking!

Step Two:
WAIT! Before you leave your tower, you need to make sure you look like a Princess. Treat everyday like you could meet your Prince. You want to lure that man in. Once you've got it, he can learn about all your flaws. And this is the test if he's a Prince, he'll except them; if he's a frog, well, he's not worth it. Always leave your tower looking fabulous, so you can feel fabulous on the inside too. Every Princess should feel fabulous with or without a man by her side.

Step Three:
Now that you look fabulous and have exited the tower, you are ready to find your Prince. But, don't rush. If you rush and make yourself fall for the first man you see, you may end up kissing a frog. Princess's should never make the first move, a Prince after all is suppose to save you from your tower. Give it time, and he'll come to you. Of course, this does not mean you shouldn't be the first one to start the conversation, but don't push yourself to fall in love.

Step Four:
Once a possible Prince has entered your life, get married and ride off into the sunset.

Only kidding, that stuff only works in fairy-tales, and as much as we'd like this world to be, this world is no fairy-tale. Take everything one step at a time. Your possible Prince has not proven that he is yet worthy. He may have saved you from your tower, but he could turn around to be plotting to kill you *cough, cough* Hans. As Frozen taught us, "you can't marry someone you just met" and just the same with any relationship, you can't rush into it expecting it to be a happily ever after, because the sad fact of this world is that not all Princes are Princes and not all Frogs are Frogs.

And Finally; Step Five:
Have fun! If you're not with your Prince to adventure and create wonderful and beautiful memories that will last a life time, thus creating your happily ever after, you're in a relationship for the wrong reasons. Don't take things too seriously, the moment you do you might find out that your "Prince" is actually a Frog and all this time you've been covered in mucous. Enjoy the love while you can, it's a wonderful thing and should create happiness not sadness.

This has been my "How To" guide on getting yourself a Prince and avoiding kissing frogs. But you must remember two things: time and *sassy finger click* you don't need no man. Just like in Princess and the Frog, Prince Naveen had to kiss Tiana to turn her into his Princess to break the spell and turn them back into humans. Give your men time, like Aladdin or Flynn Rider, before you know it that bad boy thief will be saving your life. Now, do NOT feel obliged to go and find a man. We've been taught by many Disney heroines that having a man isn't the most important thing. Go and save China, or your sister, or the lost empire of Atlantis. The world is just waiting for you.

Catch you all next time.

PS. This isn't exactly Disney related, but it's something important! Yesterday, the wonderful Carrie Hope Fletcher released her book "All I Know Now" to the world, and oh my. I have had it preordered for at least a month and it arrived yesterday precisely on time. Now, Carrie is an avid Disney fan (like myself) and her book is pure gold - literally the cover is yellow. I am recommending that everyone read this book. This book is simply wonderful and I wish I could have had it sooner in my life to guide me through my teenage years.
