Veganuary Week Five | End of Veganuary?

Image
Hello my little dreamers!  Five weeks ago I took the challenge of being vegan for the entire month of January. Here we are with only three days left, how time flies... Now I bet you're all wondering, am I going to stay vegan? Signing the Veganuary pledge doesn't necessarily sign you up for life, only a month, so what am I doing now that a month is over?  Well, I'm sure many of you will be happy to hear that I plan to stay vegan, however I'll be a little less strict with myself. Veganuary was a chance to prove to myself that I can do vegan, so now that I know I can do it, I will apply it when necessary. However, if come a day that the only non-meat product on a menu is deep fried cheese, then so be it, until then I will aim to avoid all animal products. Eating out and being vegan, has been the most difficult part of this month. I'm constantly learning and trying new things, so I guess that's a plus. Since going vegan, I've never felt ...

Veganuary Week Four | Favourite Meals

Image
Hello my little dreamers! It's week four of Veganuary, how is it's almost all over? Seeing as I've now been vegan for three weeks so far, I thought I'd tell you all my favourite vegan meals, and hopefully you can take some inspiration from it all! Vegan Mac and Cheese Last week, I tried making vegan Mac and Cheese for the first time, thanks to the recipe by  Buzzfeed. Oh my gosh, who'd have thought it'd have tasted so great! Very simple to make, just boil some potatoes and carrots (and an onion if that's your thing, not mine...) then blend it all up with some cashews and spices (I added Turmeric and Nutritional Yeast) and pop it on top of your pasta!  Sweet Potato and Butterbean Burgers I love bean burgers. The one's from Nando's are to die for. I thought, I could probably make myself some of those, and so one afternoon when I was at my boyfriends, I boiled some sweet potatoes, beans and spinage together, then with a fork (because ...

Cosplay Reveal

Image
Hello there my little dreamers! I’m super excited to announce that my next cosplay will be Rapunzel from the Disney film Tangled. For about three years now she’s been my favourite princess. Her courage, desire for adventure, creativity and passion for everything in life makes me everything I aim to be. Plus, she has super gorgeous hair which I’m dreading to make, but it will be done. This cosplay reveal is also the reveal of my new series on Internet Princess, which will follow my progress making the costume itself. This will be a couple of weeks, with one post a month, focusing on the different parts of the costume. The end result will be showcased at MCM London Comic Con in May. This will be my fourth Comic Con, I’m planning to go bigger and better. May come as a surprise, but this isn’t my first cosplay as Rapunzel. However my first was for my last day at Sixth Form in 2015, and I did in fact buy the dress pre-made. But I have five months to pull thi...

Veganuary | Struggles Two Weeks In

Image
Hi my lovely little dreamers! It's a Sunday, and you know what that means... Another Veganuary update. We're officially two weeks into January, which marks two weeks without meat, fish, dairy and eggs (plus other animal produce), and as I said in my first post, I've put together five questions for future me to answer - and the time has come... How are you feeling? I'm doing pretty good. Feeling better than ever really. I'm drinking more water, eating more fruit, doing more exercise! What is the food you miss the most, and why? I definitely miss being able to grab chocolate from the cupboard or a corner shop. I really have a limit to what I can snack on, but then again it makes me a happier and healthier me! But what I have learnt is that for every non-vegan food, there will always been a vegan alternative! What’s your new favourite food that you’ve recently discovered? Ever since going vegan, it's like I've been teleported to a whole...

Moving Back to University: Mental Health Update

Hello my little dreamers! I hope you're all well. Today I fancied documenting a time in my life, where I've felt not one hundred percent well. Ever since moving to University, and living with people, I've felt anxiety like never before. This year is surprisingly worse than the last, so I thought it'd best be documented.  There are bad days, then there are good days, then of course there are the really bad days. These are the days I can't get out of bed until gone midday, the days where I'm scared to go pee in case I run into someone, the days where I feel like I don't have a voice. I'm sure many of you know, I am someone who documents their life a lot on YouTube. Often I will sit in my room, and talk to myself. This I've found very difficult as living in a house with five other people, you don't know who's listening. It's a bit like stage fright, but much worse. I said in my next video, that the one thing I want to focus on i...

Veganuary #2 | Why?

Image
Hello my little dreamers! Welcome back to another blog post, as you can tell from the title, this is the second Veganuary post of January, and I thought I'd tell you why I went Vegan! But firstly, I just wanted to tell you all, a couple of days ago I had my first Taco Bell as a vegan . I'm going to go into it more in a video maybe if you're all interested, but oh my gosh it was delicious. I got the Crunchwrap Supreme, changed the meat for refried beans, and got rid of cheese sauce and sour cream sauce for guacamole. Adding in some of the hot sauce sachets too to give it that kick, and it was amazing!  First time eating out as a vegan was a success!   (Well... If you ignore the part where the waitress ignored me and I ended up with cheese first time round...) Here's a bit of a back story, so back when I was sixteen I decided to go Vegetarian, and I was for about two years. However, after moving to university last year, and  acquiring  a part tim...

Disneyland Planning #1

Image
Back in February 2016 I founded the Roehampton Disney Society. As a first year this was a massive event for me. A year on and I’m now planning the biggest society event we’ve done. That is, of course, Disneyland Paris. As this year will be my final as President of the society, I wanted to go out with a bang, and I can’t think of a better way than Disneyland. However, with a big trip, comes big responsibility. I’ve had to fill in risk assessment forms, make health and safety forms, and a lot of emails. We’ve got our hearts set on this one company, and we’re awaiting the final costs of our trip before forwarding it out to students of the society. What we’ve got planned in three days of magic. On the first, we will travel via Eurostar to Disney, explore and adventure to our heart’s content, before having a meal together, then watching the night time show. The second, very similar to the first, except MORE! And in the evening, we will retire early for group drinks and celebra...

Veganuary: A New Start

Image
Back in December, in the come up to Christmas, I made the decision to do Veganuary . I’d been tempted to do this for years, and after approval from friends and my boyfriend, I’ve decided that 2017 will be the year. I know it’s going to be difficult, I’ll be going from someone to eats meat, fish, dairy and eggs on the regular to cutting it out cold turkey (or cold tofu I should say!), so I’m going to prepare myself with cheat days. These will come only once a week for only these reasons: -- If I’ve run out of ideas for meals. -- If there’s no meals available when out and about at University for example.  -- If I’m at my boyfriend’s house, as it’d be rude to turn up food. However, I will always consult Twitter in the time of need. Whether it be suggestions where to go when out and about, or a meal I’ve not tried before. My Twitter will be linked down below, so please go follow me to follow my progress! As being Vegan is a state of being, not just a diet, it follows eve...
