Disney CEP Final Interview Advice | Interview No.2

Well, hi-hey-hello there friends!

If you're reading this, then the last leg of the journey is almost here! If you're reading this then I assume you've got a lovely email saying 'CONGRATULATIONS', welcoming you to your one-on-one interview at the headquarters of the Walt Disney Company in London!

Before You Go!

After getting the initial email, you will soon get a few more. It is important to make sure you accomplish everything prior to your interview.

The first will ask you to book a time for your interview, they are usually spread over four days and you will have a chance to pick from a number of slots per day.

The second will ask you to create an account on DOC (Disney Onboarding Central) where you'll be asked to state your preferences on various roles.

You will also get an email from YummyJobs asking you to prepare a Proof of Student Status form, as well as photocopy your passport in order to upload to DOC and take to the interview. You will also be asked to complete an application on Disney Careers.

How To Get There!

It may seem very simple to get there, especially if you have been before; but if you haven't, GoogleMaps is not your friend. Online it will tell you the main entrance is around the back of the bus/tube station, this is incorrect.

Depending on how you arrive, this is how I suggest you make your way to the Headquarters. The entrance is located near the downstairs bus terminal. If you're coming from inside the Tube station, you'll head to McDonald's inside, and walk up the ramp to the bus terminal. From there the office should be on your right. Follow the path around and look inside the shiny rotating doors!

Here's a cheeky screenshot to help you all out!

Arrival!

Depending on what time your interview is set for, I would arrive twenty minutes earlier just in case. If you have time, maybe organize to meet up with other applicants in Starbucks before!

When you arrive, you will need to have your bag searched, so be prepared. You will then go to the desk, let the receptionist know that you're here for an interview for your Cultural Exchange Program. There is usually a fair amount of you, and the receptionist will be expecting you, so no need to worry!

You'll then be given a lanyard which you will have to wear and then return at the end of your interview!

Awh! This brings back so many memories!

The Interview!

Now, no need to be nervous I've literally had the weirdest interview ever!

Throwback to my interview when I was called in, sat down, then asked 'so it says here you have experience in food and beverage, tell me more' to me looking at my lovely interviewer like, 'I do?!' - surprise! I have never worked in food and beverage!

After arriving, the YummyJobs team will come down to meet you, before proceeding to take you to the waiting room upstairs. There's a chance to take lots of super cool photographs, and reconnect with the YummyJobs team!

Make sure to check out the diamond Mickey Mouse statue downstairs!
Your interviewer will come and call your name, traditionally they'll go in alphabetical order. Before you go to the interview, the YummyJobs team will take your Proof of Student Status form and passport and note down your details.

When you're called through, you'll sit down opposite your interviewer, they'll have a computer with all your details on. Be wary, they will type notes during the interviewer. If you get one like mine, they'll listen attentively throughout, then give you about thirty seconds of awkward typing.

So, onto the good stuff! Here are a few of the questions I was asked;

1. Do you have any tattoos or piercings?
Just answer honestly, my interviewer told me there would only be one costume I'd have to cover one of my tattoos up with makeup for.

2. What are your top three role choices and why?
Be honest and enthuastic! I said my top roles were Attractions, Merchandising and Costuming.

3. Why do you want to do the program?
Refer back to your application, you'll know why you want to do it. Just refer back to cultural experiences and travel.

4. How do you think you'll cope living with up to seven other people?
I just said that I'm used to living with lots of people because of student accommodation and that I like cleaning up after other people!

5. What are the things you think you'll struggle with the most?
I said I would miss my family, however, I know I'll be so focused on working and spending as much time making memories that it'll go so quickly and that I can't wait to tell them about my adventures.

What To Wear!

For the interview, you'll want to be a bit smarter than your pre-screen interview. As you will be interviewing with the people that actually work in the parks, they want to see that you can dress appropriately.

For this, I suggest referring to the Disney Look guidelines which can be found on Google.

I went with a nice, knee-length dress in a neutral tone and a grey blazer over the top. My hair was neatly pulled back in a half up/half down scenario, and I had done my makeup to look natural.

Here's a visual display of ya girl on interview day!
I hope this helps all of you! If you have any questions regarding the final interview or any stages, please let me know and I'll get back to you all soon as possible!

I will catch you all next week for another lil post!
