Post-Disney Catch-Up | 2018 Updates #3
Well, hi-hey-hello there friends!
It would appear we've got a lot to catch up on.
This time three weeks ago, my Disney dream was coming to an end, as I neared my final shift. Don't worry, I am planning on telling you all about this summer in a whole new blog post, especially as I've missed keeping you all up to date this summer (whoops!), but let me tell you, oh my gosh what a summer it was!
As of this Friday (07/09/18), I will have been back in the UK for two weeks, and well as scary as it has been, I've been somewhat busy! It has been incredibly scary coming back from my dream job to unemployment and debt, however I'd like to think I've used my time wisely.
As of today (03/09/2018), I had my first phone interview for a graduate job that I really like, and well good news came through only fifteen minutes after the interview ended and I have a face-to-face interview! Here's to hoping it will be the start of something great. I do have a second interview - just in case this main one fell through or was delayed in any way - which will be happening tomorrow evening!
On a bucketlist note, I have finally booked my driving theory test, and I've started looking into finding an instructor to help me learn to drive! Learning to drive has been something on my to-do list for the longest time, and my goal is for this time next year to be able to say: 'I've been on the road driving for three months', which gives me until May to get a car and get sorted!
Since coming home I've really tried to reconnect with old school friends and those I've lost touch with. This has been one of the toughest parts, when people have moved on. It's sad to lose connection with people, but I'll just be happy our paths crossed once. However, it's not all doom and gloom, as it has been lovely to catch up with many others, and hopefully many more to come!
I am, as of current, decluttering what was my former bedroom. It is just riddled with ghosts of my former self; a girl, weak and scared about the future. So far I have thrown out so many bags of rubbish, including old a-level study books and things that have just been collecting dust, and I'm making a little collection to donate to charity. Hopefully by the end of this month, it'll be a bit more me.
It does feel strange not returning to university, to full-time education, this September; but I am happy about it. I have completed the past three years at the University of Roehampton and I'm leaving with a Bachelor Honours degree in Media, Culture and Identity with a 2:1. Something I could only dream of, especially when all my a-level teachers thought I would never achieve anything like the sorts. As I missed graduating with my class, this past July due to being in Florida, I'll hopefully be graduating in January 2019.
I'm ready for full-time work, I just hope its ready for me. While I find where I am meant to be next, I'll try to keep you all posted with my adventures and successes on here, and hopefully now that I'm not writing essays, I can continue writing creatively.
