Bookish Goals of 2018
Well, hi-hey-hello there friends.
Hope you're all doing fab and the first week of 2018 and treated you well!
If you caught my previous, or even read the title, you'll know exactly what this post is about. That's right, books. Lots and lots of books.
2017 was a year where I really re-connected to reading. I smashed my first goal of reading five books, then topped it by smashing my ten book goal. It might not seem a lot to some people, but for someone who's struggled with reading for so long, I'm so proud of myself.
In 2018 I hope to read at least twenty-two books.
That's an average of one and a half books a month, which is definitely achievable.
This list may have changed by the end of the year, definitely as I decide what will be on my Bookish Bucketlist, but here's a list of twenty-two books I'd like to have read in 2018.
As ashamed as I am, I haven't finished the Harry Potter series. So first on my list are the last three books plus the play. These books have been on my Bookish Bucketlist for over a year now, and 2018 will be the year they will be read!
1. Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix
2. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
3. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
4. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
The next few books are again from another series, one which I started reading when I was thirteen and loved. It's a rather large series, however I got through the bulk of it when I was younger, and that is The House of Night by P.C. and Kristen Cast.
5. House of Night; Awakened
6. House of Night; Destined
7. House of Night; Hidden
8. House of Night; Revealed
9. House of Night; Redeemed
2018 is the year of finishing series. The next three books are yet another series, however it's one which I've managed to read half of in the space of three months, so I reckon these will be completed before the new moon... If you get what I'm hinting at.
10. Twilight; Eclipse
11. Twilight; Short Life of Bree Tanner
12. Twilight; Breaking Dawn
The next books are stand-alones or starts of series. I've decided to place these together as I may go onto read the rest of the series in 2018, however, I'd like to see if they're for me before I definitely say I'm going to read them.
13. Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
14. Turtles All The Way Down by John Green
15. Some Kind of Wonderful by Giovanna Fletcher
16. Workin' It by RuPaul
17. Shadow Hunters; City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
18. Station Eleven by Emily St.John Mandel
19. Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan Mcguire
20. When The Curtain Falls by Carrie Hope Fletcher
21. Rosewood Chronicles; Undercover Princess by Connie Glynn
22. The Book of Dust by Philip Pullman
I bet I know what you're thinking. You're either thinking, wow, that's a lot of books. I agree. That is a lot of books, more than I've ever read. Or, you might be thinking, 'is that it?' to which my answer is no, probably not. As I mentioned this list is likely to change as I discover new books, dive into new worlds, and get sucked up by reality. There may be more books added by the end of the year, or there could be a few taken off. At the moment, these are the books I'd like to read in 2018.
As you can see there's many series on this list, in other words, there's many series which I hope to finish in 2018.
What books do you want to read in 2018?
